Well, there's been a rather long absence (a year yesterday!) but with good reason - following a long, unhappy Summer, in September last year Will and I decided we'd had about enough and packed up and moved to Wales as we had been intending to for... well, forever.
Luckily Will was able to keep his job and is now working from home, and I, after a brief stint working a job which offered very little in the way of improving either of our lives, am now staying at home. Also with good reason - Will and I are expecting a baby in July!
It'd be impossible to try and recall and catch up with everything that has happened in the last year, but I hope that now I will be able to try to pick up where I left off and continue to chronicle our adventures into a greener, more peaceful life. With the impending arrival of our baby there has been a lot to prepare and buy, almost 100% of which has been either acquiring things second hand, or making things at home where possible, and even better going without anything that seems unnecessary. In fact I am confident that I could count on one hand the number of 'new' purchases, possibly even on one or two fingers.
We have also in recent months (with great logic, FOLLOWING the big move, not before??) been shaving down our belongings and plan to continue to do this in the hope that when we move again (hopefully to buy next year) we will have a lot fewer objects tagging along behind us and weighing us down.
Having the time away from work, and for Will having more time at least without the commute, we have been able to focus a great deal more on what our priorities are and how to achieve the life we want, and this has been a really peaceful (mostly!) time of change.
I will be back, hopefully in the next few days with something current, but for the meantime consider this blog once again live!
