Blimey, where to start? I seem to have been a bit off the radar for the last few weeks. It's only because as promised while Ivy has her naps - which are becoming fewer and shorter - I have been working on making art again and this hasn't left any time for blogging, replying to letters, gardening, basic household tasks...! But I am pleased with the progress I have made and I'm going to apply to join a local art group soon, and myself and a couple of other ladies in the village are talking about starting up a local local art group too. It would be a really nice feeling to show my work again after so long.
Have we been working on any problem areas lately?
Top of Will's wardrobe - Will cleared this off last week and I finally polished it after living here for 5 months. He still has a few knick knacks, shells and pebbles and photos, but I can work around them.
Top of Jess' chest of drawers - I did clear this of everything but 'essentials' but after a couple of weeks it's still feeling cluttered to me, so I need to review the essentials and see what I can put in some of the half empty drawers instead.
Cupboard under the stairs - to my immense shame, my Mum came to visit last month and felt the need to clean my house, my struggle was so evident! She reorganised my cupboard under the stairs for me.
Top of Jess' desk/Under Jess' desk/Sewing table area - a work in progress. I have bought an A2 portfolio so completed drawings are now safe and sound and not covering my desk, and I have packed away my printing stuff as I haven't done any lately. I got rid of two binbags of scrap paper and other rubbish from under & around my desk and I have moved the sewing table across the room to where our armchair was. We're working on it!
Things that are bumming me out about the house:
Bathroom floor - we haven't got a permanent solution for this as want to replace the tiles with lino but struggled to find someone to do the job. For now I have grouted the loose tiles back in and it's a big improvement.
Decorate kitchen - We have STARTED. Part of the kitchen is an extension and there is a beam separating the old and the new part. We have done a base coat in the back half and begun painting the colour - barbados blue, oooooh! The front half is another job as we are unsure whether to keep it white or choose  another colour.
