It's been a bit of a week here really. Will has been away since last Sunday and Ivy has apparently been on some kind of sleep strike, gradually getting worse and worse every day that he has been away. We managed to make it out Monday but other than that every day my plans to do this or that have been scuppered by Ivy missing naps and not sleeping at night, and the both of us being tired and crabby. I have made it out for a walk every day, but that's about it.
We have had some lovely splashes about in the rain this week. Though I am counting down the days to the equinox it feels like Autumn is truly here now.
I was given a bottle of prosecco by my neighbours by my neighbours as another apology for yet more building work that hasn't bothered me in the slightest. I don't drink these days, but I will save it either for my birthday this week, or more likely for Christmas.
Ivy and I went out this morning to get my Sunday coffee and had a lovely walk. It was a brilliant morning and we got out early before anyone else was up, just the birds.
I couldn't resist filling my empty cup with blackberries on the way home and got my plimsolls soaked wading through the dewy grass. I met another blackberry-er coming in the opposite direction - always a tense moment - and took my leave then. Besides Ivy was going through them at such a rate that the contents of my cup was starting to go down, not up.
I picked another kilo of haws yesterday, so I will make a batch of haw jelly today and chuck the few blackberries into that.
I won't do a roundup of the spending yet as I am expecting Will back at around lunchtime and am hoping we'll get the weekly shop in today (otherwise we will be relying entirely on food from the garden until we do!) so will go over it then.

I don,t know why but I just got your post in my reading list but it wouldn't open and realised that I had missed the last few. I will be more alert from now on. That jelly was amazing.
